Coach Jesse English has 11 years of professional baseball playing experience.  He was originally drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 6th round of the 2002 amateur draft. He spent seven seasons in the Giants’ organization as a starter and a reliever before being claimed off of waivers by the Washington Nationals in 2010. He made his Major League debut with the Nationals on opening day in 2010. He recorded a 3.86 ERA with the big club. In 150 career minor league appearances, Jesse has a 34-20 record with a 3.87 ERA and 487 strikeouts in 448 innings of work and was named to the 2008 California League All Star team.  After undergoing elbow surgery in 2010, Jesse worked his way back to playing for the Bridgeport Bluefish in 2012 with a 3.47 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 54 innings. Prior to his professional career, Jesse pitched for the 2002 CIF Championship team at Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, CA.  He also played for local travel ball teams such as the Encinitas Reds, La Costa Heat and North County Hawks.
